Description
The Centre is located near Sydney’s centre, by
Sydney University’s main campus. The University
has 40,000 students and the campus is similar to a mini
city with banks, a post office, cafes, book shops, a
pharmacy and medical services. The Centre has a library,
free e-mail and internet access, a language laboratory,
a Self-Access Centre and Computer Room. It is also possible
to attend the gym, swimming pool and other sporting
facilities. Sydney is a beautiful and cosmopolitan city.
It has magnificent beaches, walkways, sporting activities
and restaurants that offer international foods.
Accommodation
The Centre advises students on where to stay and assists
them in their search. Family homestay is recommended,
as living with an Australian family caters for most
of the meals. Sharing an apartment is an option for
independent students.
Academics
With the CET English language and academic skills programs
one can study English to improve in the language or
to prepare for higher studies. When students first arrive,
they are evaluated in order to place them in the most
appropriate classes. The following programs are offered:
Academic English programs, General and Business English,
English for an MBA, skills for academic excellence,
intensive program for academic writing, Cambridge Business
English Certificate Programs, Cambridge EFL examinations
program, IELTS and TOEFL examination preparation program,
Study and Holiday Tours and TEFL Professional Development
programs.
Activities
In Sydney one can visit the local markets, museums,
theme parks, botanical gardens and the famous Opera
House. One can also go and see shows, theatres and wonderful
concerts.
