Description
Access is situated in the heart of Sydney, where most
of the popular tourist attractions are to be found.
In inner city we find the historic neighbourhood, The
Rocks, close to the water, where Sydney’s first
settlers lived. This area offers great variety of restaurants,
bars, cafes and souvenir shops. Besides The Rocks, there
is Sydney’s Harbour Bridge to visit. One can climb
to the top and have a bird’s eye view of the city,
including the round jetty where ferries stop along the
whole bay, and the famous Opera House, the city’s
most famous building. A short walk away from the Opera
House we find the Botanical Gardens and the NSW Art
Gallery, both worthwhile the walk.
Accommodation
ALC organizes Family Homestay for students wishing to
get to know the Australian way of life while they study.
Staff at ALC offers assistance to students searing for

practical English. This includes language for shopping,
banking, finding accommodation or a job and more. The
higher levels focus on idioms and slang in social conversations.
Students learn to take part in debates on complex subjects.
They also learn to understand the news, comedies and
soap operas as there is a heavy use of media at this
level. This course offers six levels and is available
on a fulltime or part-time basis.
Other possible courses include: Tertiary Preparation
(Academic English), English for Work, conversation,
pronunciation, Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses,
IELTS Preparation Courses, TOEIC Preparation Courses,
etc.
Activities
Students can share experiences, given that AKC organizes
parties on festive days such as the Melbourne Cup. The
centre also organizes outings for groups of students,
such as to Taronga Zoo, where students can see koalas,
kangaroos, emus and crocodiles.
